I’m down in Concord, North Carolina, near Charlotte Motor Speedway, zMAX Dragway, and The Dirt Track at Charlotte, but before all of that, I’m going to go take a visit inside of a few of the race shops that are down here, of the Nascar stars, so let’s go check it out.
We’re going to start off with Hendrick Motorsports.
All right, we are in the Hendrick Motorsports museum, and they have a display here with a containment seat that you’d have in a race car, so we’re going to see if I can climb into it. This ought to be fun.
We’ve got the five point harness system here. I know, another one comes up here, another one comes over here, then we’re going to put the steering wheel on, and these have a locking mechanism that they would put a pin in here, so it locks in, and then this is how we race. Got a big helmet on, so that way if we end up in a crash, we’re going to be caught within the seat. That is our seat tutorial for the day.
So now we’re back from all of our race shop tours. I’ve never done that before, and I thought that was really cool to see. I hope you’ve enjoyed going on this journey with me, and of course we saw the Hendrick Motorsports, we saw Roush Fenway, we then went to Chip Ganassi Racing, and then followed that with Stewart-Haas Racing.
Good times today. Lots of cool stuff to see. If you make it down to North Carolina, or Concord, North Carolina, definitely go on that trip. It’s definitely worthwhile. It only takes a couple hours, and all of that stuff is super close together.
